Our Objectives
The Institute catalyzes research and action to advance the education and success of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields through the following activities:
1. Create and maintain an online resource centre (hub) and database on information concerning education in STEM fields.
2. Promote the contributions of women in STEM to increase the visibility of their work and to spotlight them as role models.
3. Foster and disseminate research on STEM as a choice of study and career.
This work is guided by a volunteer board of directors and several committees.
The Canadian Institute for Women in Engineering and Sciences (CIWES) is a Canadian Charitable Organization. Donations are eligible for receipts. Contact us if you would like to support our important work.
You can learn more about the work of CIWES by reading our latest annual report or by exploring the Canadian Archive of Women in STEM – which was created by a partnership between CIWES and the University of Ottawa Library.
